In “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” (2022), Sonic, eager to prove himself as a hero, stays in Green Hills while Tom and Maddie go on vacation. However, Sonic’s peaceful life is disrupted when Dr. Robotnik returns with a powerful new ally: Knuckles the Echidna. Together, they seek the legendary Master Emerald, an artifact that grants immense power and control over the universe. Knuckles, motivated by a personal vendetta, is misled by Robotnik into thinking Sonic is his enemy, setting up an intense rivalry between the two.

In a climactic battle, Sonic and Knuckles set aside their differences and team up with Tails to stop Robotnik, retrieving the Master Emerald and restoring peace. Knuckles realizes Robotnik’s deception and joins Sonic’s side, forming a new alliance to protect the Emerald and maintain balance. In the end, Sonic embraces his new role as a hero with his friends by his side, hinting at more adventures to come. The film concludes with a post-credits scene teasing Shadow the Hedgehog as a new potential threat for the future.
