“Narnia 4: The Silver Chair” (2024) is an epic fantasy adaptation of the fourth installment in C.S. Lewisโ€™s The Chronicles of Narnia series. The story is set years after the events of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, as Narnia faces a crisis with the disappearance of Prince Rilian, the son of King Caspian X. The aging King, grief-stricken after his wifeโ€™s death at the hands of a green serpent, is nearing the end of his reign. With no heir in sight, Narnia is vulnerable to chaos.

Eustace Scrubb, now a reformed character following his previous Narnian adventure, returns to this magical world, accompanied by his schoolmate Jill Pole. Both are summoned by Aslan, the Great Lion, who entrusts them with the mission to locate the lost prince. Their adventure begins with Aslan giving Jill specific instructions and signs to follow, which will guide them through the challenges ahead.

The pair teams up with Puddleglum, a pessimistic but brave Marsh-wiggle, and journeys through dangerous territories. Their quest takes them to the ruined city of giants, the oppressive kingdom of the Lady of the Green Kirtle, and the dark Underland. Along the way, they face physical dangers, such as the threatening giants, and emotional tests, including moments of doubt when Jill fails to remember Aslan’s signs.

In the climax, they discover Rilian, who has been bewitched by the Lady of the Green Kirtle. Her plan is to use him to conquer Narnia. Through determination and courage, they break her enchantment and defeat her, freeing Rilian and restoring hope to the kingdom. The story ends on a bittersweet note as King Caspian dies, but he is reunited with Aslan in his final moments.
