In the new John Wick universe movie Ballerina (2024), Lance Reddick reprises his role as Charon, the loyal concierge of The Continental hotel, a key character throughout the John Wick series.

Though the film primarily focuses on a new character, a young ballerina and assassin played by Ana de Armas, who seeks revenge for the death of her family, Reddick’s appearance as Charon ties the movie to the larger John Wick universe. Charon’s role in Ballerina is likely to provide a sense of continuity and connect the events of the spin-off to the established world, continuing his portrayal of the calm and efficient hotel concierge who operates within the complex and dangerous criminal underworld of the John Wick series.

Given the important role Charon has played in the previous films, particularly in maintaining order and assisting John Wick, Reddick’s character is expected to bring both familiarity and depth to the expanding universe. This film, set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, is a significant addition to the series, and Lance Reddick’s involvement adds an interesting layer of continuity.
